On January 21, 2009, Native Trails will debut its eighth season of free noontime festivals dedicated to exploring the rich cultures of Native America. Musical performances using traditional instruments such as flutes, gourds and drums will delight your ears. A variety of tribal dances ranging from Pima dancing and inter-tribal pow wow dancing to the excitement and energy of world championship hoop dancing will be an amazing visual experience.
Arizona Tribal Nations- Each week, cultural ambassadors and Native American royalty from various Arizona Nations will join the Native Trails cast for music, dances and storytelling. Tribes represented will include Salt River Pima-Maricopa, Tohono O’odham, Hopi, Yavapai, Apache and Navajo.
Arts & Crafts-Native American artisans, jewelry makers and tribal elders from around the state will have their work displayed and sell their items throughout the season. Traditional Native American food also will be available for you to enjoy.
