The School of Dance at ASU began in 1954. The Herberger Institute School of Dance is recognized as one of the leading dance programs in the United States. They are “committed to enabling students to find their own unique role within the rapidly changing and expanding horizons of dance culture, and ensure that they have the skills, experiences, knowledge and tools to facilitate their continuing success. At the Herberger Institute School of Dance they ask the following questions:
- What is the role of dance in the 21st century?
- How can dance help build a healthy society?
- How does dance help us understand ourselves and the world around us?
- What might dance really be like in 20 years?
- What skills, knowledge and experiences will best enable a dance artist to thrive in years to come?
