On the Eastern slope of McDowell Mountains, you find the community of Fountain Hills which is best known for its magnificent scenic views, hometown character and what else – the fountain. The fountain is actually one of the world’s tallest fountains!
This is also the home of the famed resort CopperWynd and Club along with The Inn at Eagle Mountain. For the avid golfer, you can find Sun Ridge Canyon Golf Club, the Golf Club at Eagle Mountain and Desert Canyon Golf Club. The close proximity of Fountain hills to both Scottsdale, Arizona and McDowell Mountain Park, the Verde and Salt rivers and Saguaro Lake provides easy access to a wide range of activities like biking, walking, hiking river rafting, boating swimming and horseback riding.
The River of Time Museum is worth checking out and if you are an art buff – Fountain Hills has more than 50 great pieces of art held in its public art collection. There are seasonal arts and craft fairs held in February and November which attract visitors, artisans, fans and tourists from around the country. There’s a lot to do in Fountain Hills which is just a short hop from Scottsdale, Arizona.
